Mentoring

I offer private mentoring to emerging translators, focusing on the following specialisms:

• Children’s and YA literature – any language into English
• Exam preparation for CIOL Diploma in Translation Unit 1 General Paper, Unit 2 Literature, Unit 3 Social science, Unit 3 Arts & Culture – any language into English
• Literary translation (writing for adults) – from Arabic, German, Maltese, Russian or Ukrainian into English

I offer the following packages for mentoring:

• Standard package: 1 x 60-minute online meeting, plus written feedback on 2 translations of up to 1500 words each | £120
• Extended package: 3 x 60-minute online sessions (spread over 2-3 months), plus written feedback on 3 translations of up to 1500 words each | £240
• Book pitch feedback: feedback on a proposal (query letter) to publishers (children’s/YA, or adult fiction/non-fiction). Feedback on a sample translation (max 3000 words English), synopsis and book pitch, plus 60-minute online meeting | £150
