The Bride of Amman – extract in Words without Borders

Last week saw the publication of an extract I translated from Fadi Zaghmout‘s fascinating novel of sexuality and gender politics in Jordan, The Amman Bride, in Words without Borders. If you read Arabic, you can read both the English and the original text (Arous Amman) side by side online, which is something I love about Words without Borders magazine.

(Update: this novel was published in my translation in 2015 as The Bride of Amman.  See here for links to reviews etc.)
